Privacy Policy

Mind Nook ("we", "our", or "the app") is a puzzle game. This policy explains what data is collected when you use the app and how it is used.

1. Data We Collect

We do not collect any personal information. All game progress (stars, coins, completed levels, settings) is stored exclusively on your device using local storage. Nothing is transmitted to our servers — we don't have any.

2. Data Collected by Third Parties (Advertising)

Mind Nook uses Google AdMob to show ads. AdMob may collect the following on our behalf:

• Advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, GAID on Android) — used to show relevant ads and to measure how well they perform. On iOS 14.5+, this requires your explicit permission via the App Tracking Transparency prompt.
• Approximate location — derived from your IP address by Google, not from your device's GPS or location sensors.
• Ad interaction data — whether you viewed or tapped an ad.

3. Data Collected by Third Parties (Analytics)

Mind Nook uses Google Analytics for Firebase to measure whether our advertising works — for example, whether someone who saw an ad for the game went on to install it. It may collect:

• App usage events — such as the app being opened for the first time.
• Device and app information — device model, operating system version, app version and language.
• An installation identifier — a random identifier for this installation of the app, which is reset if you delete and reinstall it.

Analytics collection is switched off when the app starts. It is only enabled afterwards, and only if the consent step described in the next section allows it.

4. Your Choices and Consent

Where local rules require it — for example in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom — the app shows a consent screen from Google's User Messaging Platform before advertising or analytics data is used. What you choose there decides whether ads are personalised and whether analytics is enabled at all.

On iOS, the App Tracking Transparency prompt is a separate and additional step. Declining it means the advertising identifier is not used and ads are shown without personalisation.

Declining either prompt is fully supported. The game itself is unaffected and no content is locked behind them.

5. Data We Do NOT Collect

• Name, email address, or any account information (no login required)
• Contacts, photos, camera, or microphone
• Precise GPS location
• Health or financial data
• Any user-generated content (the game has no chat or social features)

6. Children's Privacy

Mind Nook is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because AdMob behavioral ads require user consent, the app requests ATT permission before serving personalized ads. If you are a parent and believe your child has been exposed to personalized ads without consent, please contact us and we will direct you to Google's opt-out tools.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

All game data is stored locally on your device. Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all locally stored data. We hold no server-side data to delete on request.

8. Changes to This Policy

If we update this policy, the new version will be posted at this URL and the "last updated" date above will change. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
